Meet the Team Areum Hi, I’m Areum and I work as a Lifestyle Assistant. What do you enjoy most about working here?
What I enjoy most about working here is spending time with the residents, making them smile, and creating fun and meaningful activities together. Every day is different and rewarding in its own way. I especially enjoy interacting and chatting with residents and learning about their different cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences. As English is my second language, working here has also helped me improve my English and learn more about Australian culture and national celebrations. I love helping residents improve their lifestyle and wellbeing through activities, conversations, and sharing experiences and hobbies that bring happiness and connection. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is hearing residents tell me that they really enjoyed the activities or special occasions our team created for them. It makes me feel happy and satisfied, and it also motivates me to keep improving myself and think of new ways I can support residents and make their days more enjoyable. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, visiting cafés, hiking, and relaxing at home with my cat. I also enjoy having phone or video calls with my parents, family, and friends in South Korea, which helps me feel close to them even from a distance. I enjoy crocheting while listening to music, playing board games — especially Splendor — and doing Nonogram puzzles. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would love to visit the Dolomites in Italy again, in the northern part of the country along the Alps that extend through Switzerland. I really enjoyed its breathtaking mountain scenery and peaceful atmosphere. The area is very large, and when I visited last year during my holiday, I wasn’t able to explore everywhere. I would love to go back and see different parts of the Dolomites and enjoy hiking in different areas or even camping there.
