14:11-19 describes the revolt in heaven which he caused. He actually sought to usurp God’s place that he might obtain the worship of all created beings. What pride, arrogance, rebellion and selfishness we see in this account. Sin began with covetousness and jealousy. “ The son of morning” was cast out of heaven and became the devil. In those wonderful hours before the entrance of sin into the human family there was a togetherness we will only know when in our resurrection bodies we stand before the King of kings. Adam and Eve could truthfully have sung the chorus, “ And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known” . How tragic that sin changed all of that. The consciousness of sin was so great that our first parents, Adam and Eve, hid themselves away from the Lord. God wanted them to confess their sin. Adam spoke up and tried a very weak apology (vs. 10). Where the two had expected to get wisdom they lost the divine love. Where they had hoped to be as strong as God they were actually powerless. They did not know what to do. They had transferred the control of their lives from God to themselves. As a result the human race began to suffer spiritual death. The seeds of physical death were also planted in their bodies. People have died physically and spiritually ever since. Many Bible teachers believe that Adam and Eve were clothed with an aura of light. When they

in the Bible speaking of sacrifice and redemption. This extends from Genesis to Revelation. There’s also the black line of sin, hatred and defiance which can also be seen clearly. The first home of man in the Garden of Eden was neither a mansion nor a cottage. It was spacious and beautiful, adorned by nature rather than by art. Adam was to be the caretaker and the watch over God’s creation. Eve was given for companionship. These two had no fear of beasts, for they had dominion over them. The earth was completely at peace. Adam and Eve were happy because their hearts were openly in love with God. Their thoughts were atuned to Him. In innocence they had no knowledge of any other behavior. Then, suddenly, tragedy struck. Lucifer, now afallen being, enteredthe scene. Using the serpent as a means of communicating his mind to Eve, he deceived the woman (Genesis 3:1-7). What a pungent story here of the fall of the human race. As Adam ate of that which Eve gave him the two became guilty of sin against the holy will of God. As soon as this happened they were filled with a sense of shame. They knew how embarrassing it would be to face the Lord. Beginning with verse 8 we have the account of their sad meeting. What kind of a person must the devil have been to secure the loyalties of Adam and Eve? Satan was in all probability a heavenly being as are all angels, seraphs, and cherubim. Lucifer had been created a perfect being ( E z e k i e l 28:12-15). Isaiah
