The new Pharoah proved to be an avowed oppressor of Israel for the people had been reduced to slavery. Israel cried out of her misery to Jehovah for deliverance. God heard and brought deliverance. Again the devil tried to destroy the nation but God delivered them with an o u t s t r e t c h e d hand of unmistakable blessing. Scripture says
Joseph saw his brothers and knew them while they did not recognize him. They were greeted roughly.
