What kind of support from local businesses, schools, or individuals would make the most signicant dierence to Lumiere? We're looking for individuals to join us in building the Lumiere community. We're a small team—just Melissa and two amazing volunteers. With more hands, we could run more sessions and reach more families. Every extra person means more smiles and support, and children can make happy memories and experience the magic of Lumiere. ank you to Metro Bank and Prudentia Education for your recent support. It has been just what we needed, freeing up our time to focus on our families and plans for Lumiere. We have ample space within the centre that we'd love to bring to life, but it needs everything from scratch. It's full of potential, and we'd love support with equipment, furnishings, or ideas to turn it into something special for the families we support. We have an exciting project underway. We don't want to say too much, but it's meaningful. To make it happen, we need a plywood board and a few materials. If anyone can help, we'd be forever grateful. Of course, helping with fundraising would mean the world to us. Whether it's hosting a small event, sharing our story, or supporting us in any creative way, we welcome it. We would like to reach out to commissioners and local authorities, as we have signicant plans and believe that sustainability will be a topic for discussion with the relevant stakeholders. Liverpool is known for backing its own, so we can expect something to unfold shortly.
One of the things people love about Lumiere is its sense of welcome and care. How do you maintain that culture as more families and volunteers join? From the day we held our rst parents and carers group, I felt the love in the room, and that feeling has never le. Love is at the centre of everything we do. From day one, we've said: no judgement, no pressure, just come as you are. at applies to the families and the people who volunteer with us as well. Melissa and I are always present, not behind desks but right there in the middle of the play, the laughter, the mess, and the magic. We greet every family with love because we know how much it means to be seen and accepted without needing to explain yourself. Our regulars help show that same love, and our new families feel like they've always been part of Lumiere. e love here is real, which makes Lumiere feel at home. It is a blessing to be part of the journey of our VIPs (very important people) every day. We are being called the Disney of so play. We will take that who wouldn't.
