Hi everyone, Welcome to our Summer edition of Home Stories – the last one for 2022! It’s been a busy time for us here at Housing Choices Tasmania. To mark Anti- Poverty Week (16-22 October) we held a range of resident events and activities including Story Time at the Burnie Child and Family Centre and The Big Table Community Lunch at the East Devonport Neighbourhood House. It was great to see so many of you there, and we couldn’t have done it without the hard work and contributions from our community volunteers, partners and service providers. You can see some photos from the events on page 6-7. We caught up with our incredibly talented Shorewell Park resident Ian, who has been making wooden model boats by hand for almost 28 years. Being completely blind
has not stood in Ian's way! You can read his interview and see his inspiring works of art on page 4. We have recently received the results from our 2022 Resident Satisfaction Survey. The surveys are an important opportunity for us to hear from you - your thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Your feedback helps us to understand what you’re happy with and where we need to improve, so a very big thank you to everyone who took the time to respond. We will share the results with you in our next Home Stories newsletter. It was a privilege to meet with two of our ‘Your Future Scholarship’ winners; Maryam and Mohadisa. They’ve each been granted a $1,000 scholarship to put
With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, we've organised a series of end of year resident events all around the state in Hobart, Shorewell Park, East Devonport and Latrobe. We hope to see as many of you and your families as possible. All the best from us at Housing Choices Tasmania.
