TAS Home Stories Summer 2022

Story Time at the Burnie Child and Family Centre To kick off Anti-Poverty Week, children were invited for Story Time at the Burnie Child and Family Centre on Tuesday 18 October. There was morning tea and lots of activities for the kids. Around 50 people attended, young and old! Families, grandparents and children from the community were joined by Burnie Child and Family Learning Centre staff,

St Vincents, The Smith Family, Boomerang Bags (community sewing group), West North West Working Group and the Pataway Collective. Hot drinks were enjoyed by all, and the kids were given a morning tea fruit and cheese platter, ‘what to pack’ lunchbox refill containers and free school library bags. Thanks to the sunshine the children were able to play freely outside.

Anti-Poverty Week 2022 events and activities To mark Anti-Poverty Week (16-22 October 2022) events were held around Tasmania with our incredible partners. Thank you to everyone who supported these events by showing up. It was great to see so many

faces! We couldn’t have done it without the hard work and contributions from our community volunteers, partners and service providers. Here’s a wrap up of the week’s events.
