Eyedropper settings Control your pixels.

Sample area (the size of the sample area) The Eyedropper averages colors of pixels within a set radius This allows you to avoid sampling stray pixels in random colors.

Resulting color:

By adjusting the sample size of the Eyedropper you can precisely sample single pixels or average colors from noisy images

Sample all layers ON (default) All layers and the Paper are sampled

Sample all layers OFF Only the current layer is sampled

Turning off the "Sample all layers" option makes the Eyedropper ignore also all the adjustment layers above the current layer. The results may be unexpected.

When the Paper layer is visible, its color is sampled; if Paper is hidden, the background is treated as white.
