You have to set up the quality (resolution) of the video recording when creating a new project

Turn recording on/off This can be changed in the Recording panel afterwards. More on page 427
Pick the desired recording resolution Note that higher settings may produce very large files and the recording may affect performance on weaker devices.
Actual video size depends on the proportions of the canvas. If you intend to publish the recording, consider using canvas proportions based on standard video formats.

Note that you cannot change the chosen video format after creating the project.
