In 2024, she was recognized as a Women of Influence award recipient, highlighting her impact and leadership within the profession. While in West Columbia, Tara was personally involved in numerous projects that contributed to the City earning the 2021 South Carolina Community Development Association Award of Excellence for the River District Redevelopment Project—a transformative effort that expanded parks and green space, improved public parking, enhanced connectivity, and elevated quality of life through projects such as Carraway Park, the Interactive Art Park, and new bike lane connections.

A Midlands native, she grew up spending summers in Windy Hill and has long had a connection to the North Myrtle Beach area. She and her husband, Eric, have two sons, Riley and Watson. She is known for thriving in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities, and fostering meaningful community engagement, partnerships, and transparency in government.

We are excited to have her leadership and experience supporting City Council, Staff, and the community as North Myrtle Beach continues to move forward.

“I believe our job every day is to make this City the best place to live, work, and play. It is a privilege to be part of such an amazing team with the City of North Myrtle Beach.”
