UPDATES: CITY PROJECTS
Fire Station 7 Construction on Fire Station 7 continues to move forward on schedule. The foundation has been poured, the walls are in place, and crews are now working on the roof. The contractor is scheduled to complete the project no later than December 2026.
Underground Utility Conversion Project The City’s underground utility conversion project along North Ocean Boulevard, from 29th Avenue North to 34th Avenue North, has moved into its next phase. The City’s electrical contractor is currently completing utility connections, followed by the removal of existing poles and overhead lines by Santee Cooper. Once this work is finished, the roadway will be paved. The project is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2026. Construction will take place within public road rights-of-way and designated permanent and temporary construction easements. As work progresses, motorists should anticipate lane closures and traffic detours along the project route. Water Transmission Line Project Phase I of the Water Transmission Line Project is expected to be completed by June 2026. Phase II will follow and will extend through the Town of Atlantic Beach, with completion anticipated by December 2026. Public Parking Work continues on the public parking lot at Sea Mountain Highway and Ocean Boulevard. The next phase of the project includes paving and the addition of a public restroom. The public parking lot at 14th Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard has been paved, with landscaping planned as the next step. Completion dates for these parking lots has not yet been established.
