Year 3
The Year 3 students at GEMS Wellington International School have embarked on yet another remarkable milestone in their dynamic learning voyage. This year has been brimming with vitality, eagerness, and perseverance, as students have undergone significant personal and academic development. Engaging in a diverse array of hands-on learning experiences, from exploring the rainforest to delving into the wonders of Ancient Egypt, our children have thrived across the curriculum. During the first term, Year 3 embarked on an exciting journey into the world of Rainforests. They had the opportunity to visit Green Planet, where they explored the layers of the rainforest and encountered a variety of exotic animals and plants. Additionally, students demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills
through the ‘WIS Wildcat Souk,’ a highly successful event where they designed and crafted innovative products for sale. Engaging in marketing strategies, they identified target markets and adapted their designs to meet customer preferences. The initiative raised a remarkable sum of money, all of which was donated to Dubai Cares. Our curriculum is always evolving, as we continuously seek to create unforgettable learning experiences. Year 3 recently benefited from a corridor refurbishment, which introduced pods and multi-use learning spaces, enriching the educational journey for our students. This transformation facilitated numerous successful parental engagements, including the Stone Age Theme Day, where families joined in making clay jewelry and stone age weapons. Witnessing the deep
involvement of parents throughout the year, with many creating models at home, was truly heartening and demonstrated their strong connection to the curriculum. Opening our doors to parents has been truly delightful. We’ve enjoyed numerous engaging class assemblies, Mini-Musicals, parental engagement activities, and student-led conferences. It’s been a pleasure to reinforce and deepen the impact we collectively have on the children’s learning journey, and it’s evident that the students are thriving as a result of this collaborative relationship.
