their creativity and dedication. I was thoroughly impressed by the remarkable costumes, particularly those crafted by the students themselves. The day was filled with excitement as we engaged in activities like crafting shields and clay rune writing. Sports Day was another standout event of the year, with Onyx House emerging triumphant in Year 5. DIamond secured a close second, with Emerald claiming the third spot. Despite the final standings, every student exhibited unwavering dedication, pushing themselves to deliver their best performance. Witnessing their enthusiasm and determination was truly gratifying, showcasing the skills they’ve been developing in their physical education classes. This year we invited parents to join us to create Greek clay pots where the children were able to showcase their knowledge of Ancient Greek patterns. It was so lovely to see both children and parents enjoying time together and engaging in a creative task from the past.
More than 180 children had the opportunity to participate in our residential excursion to Ecoventure in Umm al Quwain this year. During this trip, they bravely tackled various challenges, such as climbing, water sports, and team building activities, pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones. For many, this was their first experience spending a night away from home, where they acquired valuable skills in organizing their day, packing their belongings, and maintaining cleanliness in their accommodations. Both students and teachers alike found immense enjoyment in this adventure, relishing the chance to bond outside of the classroom setting. The past year has been immensely fulfilling and gratifying for both the Year 5 students and staff. I am incredibly proud of the progress the children have achieved, both socially and academically. I am confident that they will continue to thrive as they transition into Year 6.

Additionally, they have relished the opportunity to delve into Design Technology sessions led by secondary specialists, where they honed skills with tools such as wood saws and files.
