Assistant Headteacher: Year 10 - 11
Another fantastic year has passed for our Year 10 and 11 students and I have been delighted to see the ongoing hard work, passion and drive that our students have shown. This year saw the release and implementation of our school values. These are Integrity, Empathy and Fortitude. I have been incredibly impressed by our Year 10 and 11 students in displaying these qualities and acting as role models to all of our younger students. It is through these great displays of leadership and student modelling that we can be assured the legacy of our students is spread throughout all aspects of the school. As we know, Year 10 brings the onset of students “GCSE years” and with that there can sometimes be a heightened level of anxiety and pressure. However, our current Year 10 cohort have been amazing at attacking this with positivity and strategic planning. This has ensured they are giving absolutely everything they can to gaining the outcomes that they deserve. Year 11 have been working tirelessly this year to ensure that they were prepared for their final GCSE examinations and I was incredibly proud of how they conducted themselves, showing the highest possible levels of maturity and commitment to their studies. School life, is not just about academics. Our Year 10 and 11 students have engaged in some amazing activities this year including the Duke of Edinburgh award, international trips skiing and to explore different Universities in the USA; achieving sporting excellence in our football, netball, basketball and other sporting teams. I am extremely grateful to have been able to lead such an amazing group of young individuals and guide them towards the future they deserve. Thanks, Mathew Herring Assistant Headteacher Student Culture and Experience - Year 10 - 11
