WIS Yearbook 2024

Our Executive Team

At WIS our students display the art of optimism; staying positive in the face of adversity. We know that being optimistic unlocks the door to creativity and resilience. Ours is a culture whereby students are empowered to embrace challenge with optimism. Being optimistic is about actively acknowledging that you will face difficulties and challenges in school and in life, whilst remaining hopeful and confident about the future. I wish all of our students at WIS a bright optimistic future. Scarlett Christley Head of Curriculum & Assessment - Primary

At the culmination of yet another transformative academic year at GEMS Wellington International School, it is with great pride and enthusiasm that we reflect upon the significant strides we’ve made in nurturing a culture of responsibility, sustainability, and global citizenship. This year was marked by the UAE hosting COP 28 which served as a poignant reminder of the global interconnectedness of environmental challenges. It reinforced our commitment to preparing our students not just academically but as informed global citizens, ready to engage in discussions and actions that contribute to the sustainability of our planet. As we witness the impact of many initiatives led by our students this year, it is evident that our students are not merely learners but responsible contributors to the wellbeing of our community and the world at large. Together, we are shaping a generation of socially responsible and environmentally conscious individuals who are poised to contribute meaningfully to the

global community. Claudia Ghavami Head of Curriculum & Assessment - Secondary
