US University I just wanted to say thank you for organising the trip, it was really fun and I had a great time. Some highlights for me were touring Harvard and visiting the Empire State Building. The top 3 universities for me were Harvard, Yale and Columbia because I liked the facilities, campus life and the overall way of learning in each university. - Jiya Vivek Year 10 I really enjoyed the Uni trip that you had organised for us and some of my key highlights were visiting the top colleges of this world and seeing what their traditions and lifestyles were like as well as visiting the main tourist attractions such as time square and the empire state building where the views that we saw were absolutely beautiful. I think that my top 3 universities were Brown, Yale and Harvard as for Brown and Yale the options for Double Majoring really stood out to me whereas for Harvard the culture and traditions really had me interested in the university. Overall, I felt the trip was really enjoyable and that all of the students got along with each other well. - Bhavya Paliwal Year 11 The USA trip is definitely one for the books, the city itself was just beautiful and astonishing to go see. My personal highlights would have to be going to Times Square because throughout the journey we were just having fun as a group and getting to know each other better. I also really enjoyed the tour around the city because there were so many monuments that had deep stories behind them which I enjoyed. The universities I enjoyed going to were: Harvard and Yale. Harvard gave us a very interactive tour and gave us insights on student life and how Harvard works in terms of education. Yale was definitely one of my favorites with the kind people around it as well as the peaceful environment and the number of opportunities given there. Overall, this trip will definitely be a memory to cherish and guides us on how to proceed in life. - Rakshitaa Rahul Year 10
Year 6 Eco Adventure - North Star, Khorfakkan On Wednesday 3rd January Year 6 had the honour to go to a 3 day stay at the Oceanic Resort. When we arrived, we had our lunch and set off to our first activity. Our first wilderness survival we gutted the fish, cooked it, then ate it. After that we learnt how to make fire from flint and steel and cotton wool also with different other ways. Next, we made tents out of 3 wooden sticks, 2 ropes and a waterproof sheet. Once it was complete our instructor (Natalia) poured water on us and tested if it would hold. Finally, we had our delicious dinner sitting with all our friends. Next was campfire then headed off to bed in my room 109. On the second day we had our breakfast which everyone enjoyed. Our first activity was Giant Paddleboarding in which we did boys vs girls (Girls won). Next was raft building but sadly boys won however it was a fun experience. Lunch kept getting yummier every day. After lunch snorkeling which sounded scary at first but was really cool seeing all the different sea creatures. Just be careful, don’t touch the floor incase of… SEA URCHINS! Don’t worry it won’t harm you. To warm up from the cold of the sea we played beach games and some went for a shower. Then was dinner, quiz night which we won 5th place. Finally, it was bed time. Day 3 was my favourite memory of North Star it was the hike to Al Rafisah Dam. It was a very long way up but worth the wait. We even saw a blue lizard on the way up. There was a beautiful view while at the top. Top Tip: don’t look down! When we got to the land surface, we had to go back to school with 1 hour and 30-minute ride back. It was a really fun experience. - Mariya Sheikh Year 6YD
Thailand I really enjoyed Thailand because of the many different activities we did and how organized the trip was. The instructors there made sure we had the best time and had everything perfectly planned. This trip was really underrated because not many people chose it, but in my opinion, I feel that this trip was better than the rest because of how active we were and how organized it was. In conclusion, I feel I really enjoyed the trip, and having a small amount worked to our advantage by getting everyone the same attention. Nada Ibrahim Ragy Year 10XE
