Mahiba Khan Vishesh Shah The English Council continue to work with the Lower School Bookworms on various cross phase activities such as paired reading and vocabulary exercises. The English Council look forward to organised and assisted in the running of The Royal Debates for the second year in a row and are excited to assist students from different houses as they compete for the coveted Best Debate team. The event is excellent for students as it develops excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as challenging their critical thinking abilities. Ishaan Agarwal in Year 9 has been a member of the English Council since Year 7 and is now an English Council Lead. When asked about why this is an important EEE for him to be a part of he stated “Innovative, Inclusive, Interactive - the three words I would use to describe the English Council. A club of creativity and collaboration, the English Council is my favourite EEE for its imaginative initiatives and fun-filled events! We have such a cohesive, unified team, from students across different years, sharing and cooperating original ideas, which is simply amazing! I anticipate next year eagerly to continue working with my peers in the English Council”.
