WIS Yearbook 2024

Foundation Stage 2

What an incredible year in Foundation Stage 2 we have had! It has

been a year packed with new and exciting learning opportunities which have seen them smile, thrive and grow into confident and independent learners. Academically, their progress has been nothing short of outstanding. From developing early writing skills to confidently delving into the world of reading and comprehension their achievements have been commendable. We are proud of each and every one of the students and how they have excelled in every area of learning from the Early Years Framework. It has been incredible to watch the children imagination and curiosity develop as they followed their interests whilst playing in our indoor and outdoor learning zones. Through child led play we have explored many areas of learning. We have been budding architects constructing our own buildings, enthusiastic scientists mixing water potions and promising chefs baking delicious mud pies! It was fantastic to see the delight on the children’s faces on Splash Day as they played splash the teacher and enjoyed a visit from the ice cream van. The students have enjoyed many thematic topics throughout the year including Wild Animals, Pirates and People Who Help Us. Enrichment events like World Book Day, have seen the students dress up in amazing costumes and we even had some special visitors in the Foundation Stage. The petting farm and Ariel’s singing and storytelling session were just two of our highlights. During our Wild Animals topic in Term 2, we had an exciting visit from TeachRex. The children immersed themselves in this experience and loved meeting, a life-sized Gorilla! We got to interact and ask insightful questions during our workshops. It was amazing to see the children go on to be inspired in their writing. It has been a memorable year for everyone with the children bringing an enthusiasm and love for learning each and every day. We take immense pride in witnessing the remarkable academic progress and holistic development of each child, and as they proudly graduate from the Foundation Stage, we cannot wait to see their journey continue into Year 1 and beyond.
