Year 2 Our wonderful Year 2 students have had an incredible year full of fantastic learning experiences which captured their engagement and imagination. Each and every student’s love, dedication and passion for their learning has shone each day, making those around them extremely proud. It has been wonderful to witness the students flourish in all aspects of their learning, thrive when working collaboratively and accomplishment their personal goals. Life in Year 2 is always busy with learning and we thoroughly enjoy our practical and real- life experiences which have impacted greatly on the knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, creating delightful memories. Our trip to Atlantis ‘The Lost Chambers’ Aquarium was a fond favourite for the students, where
we discovered more about underwater creatures, especially the baby sharks and how they were cared for. The children were ecstatic when they saw how many teeth a shark has! The fun did not stop there…to help us immerse ourselves into or Dinosaur topic, we were visited by Teach Rex from the UK. This was a phenomenal experience for the students and they were thrilled to meet Jam and the baby dinosaurs. The students were engaged and enthusiastic with the buzz continuing throughout the week. The students loved telling stories of how they put out water for Rodger the Pterodactyl. Inviting our wonderful parents into school and share our learning experience with them is something we love to do here at WIS. It has been great to invite our Year 2 parents to our exciting
parental engagements, where we created a variety of amazing crafts such as our camel sunset. The students are always excited to share the wonderful work that they have completed in school during our class assemblies, Mini Musicals and Student Led Conferences have enabled them to do this. It is always great to see the students enthusiastic when discussing and showcasing their personal learning journey with their parents. Now we look forward to seeing what adventures next year will bring to each and every one of our amazing Year 2 students. We know they will continue to shine. Toni Jones Head of Year 2
