Almost one year after DGH’s new MRI was lowered into the building by R & D Crane, a member of the Cherubini Group of Companies, we gathered to celebrate a generous $1 million gift from the Gasparetto family, in honour of Danilo and Renato Gasparetto – founders of Cherubini Group of Companies. This monumental donation will provide critical funding for the acquisition of leading-edge equipment and technology to support innovation and exceptional care at Dartmouth General. Arriving in Nova Scotia from Italy in the early 1960’s, the Gasparetto brothers worked together to build Cherubini Group of Companies, the largest steel fabrication company in Atlantic Canada with some 400 employees. They have built more than 150 bridges across the globe. The Gasparetto family and the Cherubini Group of Companies have been generous supporters of our community for decades, quietly and consistently helping food banks and other organizations working to make our community stronger and healthier. We are incredibly honoured and deeply grateful to be recipients of the Gasparetto family’s outstanding generosity.
In recognition of this landmark gift, the MRI Suite has been renamed “The Gasparetto Family MRI Suite” and will showcase the family’s history and immigration story from Europe to Canada. Our deepest thanks and appreciation to the Gasparetto family for helping build bridges to better health for all.
Grateful patient, Sue Smith, shared her DGH story during the cheque presentation
