Before that, we had never received anything of the sort.” The letter was sent by the City of Clar- ence-Rockland and, amongst other things, informed the Bauers that they would receive an invoice from the City by September 2019, in the amount of $58.66, for maintenance work performed on the Raymond Vinette Main Drain. “Maintenance work had to be performed on the Raymond Vinette Main Drain, a municipal drain, in order to change three culverts showing failure signs or close to collapse in other parts, for safety concerns,” stated the letter signed by Drainage Superintendent for the City of $MBSFODF3PDLMBOE &SJD-FSPVYi8FBMTP had to remove nuisance beaver and beaver dam to prevent flooding issues in the area.” 8IFOQIPOFEGPSNPSFJOGPSNBUJPO -FS - PVYEFDMJOFEUPDPNNFOU JOTUFBESFGFSSJOH to section 74 of the Drainage Act. » Ci-dessus, on remarque M. A local fisherman stumbled on over 30 dead fish, floating near the shore of the Ottawa River, in Du Moulin Park. “I’ve been fishing in Rockland for over 30 years,” Khalil Fidaoui said, fishing rod in hand, “and I’ve never seen anything like it.” The man questioned if the fish that were caught in the river are good to eat. A call to Ontario’s Ministry of the Environment had yet to be returned. —photo Francis Racine
