WELCOME

November 2025

Shalom,

The world travel market (WTM) is just around the corner. From November 4th to 6th, the tourism world will focus on this prestigious event, which enables buyers and suppliers to meet and create the experiences that drive people to explore the world. We will also be there, determined to continue showcasing Israel’s beauty and the immense tourism potential it holds. When we attended WTM in 2024, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office still advised against travel to Israel, and the frequency of flights from the UK was very low. This year, fortunately, most areas of Israel are “green,” meaning they are recommended for tourism, and the flight supply has increased. Participating in WTM provides the Israeli tourism industry with the perfect platform to present the true and beautiful reality of Israel, demonstrating to the tourism sector that we are open for business and happy to assist. Although this last 2 years has not been easy for tourism in Israel, we are witnessing a welcome recovery. Between January and August 2025, there were 814,000 tourist entries - a significant increase of 21% compared to 672,400 entries during the same period in 2024. This positive trend shows that we are on the right path, even though challenges remain ahead. We view our participation in WTM as essential, as it is important to maintain a presence to showcase Israel as a sustainable tourism destination. We continue to see value in building and nurturing connections at WTM to support this gradual growth in tourism, while maintaining existing collaborations and promoting innovative ideas to increase visits, particularly in niche markets that have shown resilience. Furthermore, despite the significant challenges, we continue to develop future partnerships and map out the stakeholders who will be our partners in the “day after” and help us recover from this difficult period. Promoting Israel in the current climate is not simple, but the Israeli Ministry of Tourism team, both here and around the world, is committed to increasing tourist numbers through positive engagement and building collaborations with the tourism sector.

We wish you all a successful WTM!

Israel’s Tourism Recovery: A Focus on Expansion and Optimism Senior tourism industry officials share how Israel and the sectors of aviation, hotels, and tourism plan to bring the State of Israel back to the forefront of global tourism

Benni Levy, VP of Marketing and Sales at Isrotel Chain: “With the conclusion of the war and the expectation that the tourism sector will stabilize in the coming months, the Isrotel chain is focusing on restoring inbound tourism to Israel. The chain is working in cooperation with wholesalers and inbound tourism operators, while investing in targeted campaigns in key markets in Europe and America. The emphasis is on presenting Israel as a diverse and accessible destination, which combines breathtaking landscapes, varied culture, fine culinary experiences, and the highest

standard of service. Concurrently, Isrotel is emphasizing the overall hospitality experience, from personalized and meticulous hosting to the integration of content and activities also tailored for tourists from abroad. This year, the chain opened four new hotels: ‘Gymnasia’ in Tel Aviv, ‘Ayala’ in the North, ‘Daroma’ in Mitzpe Ramon, and ‘Kayma’ at the Dead Sea. These development plans will continue in 2026, when the nationwide hotel distribution of the Isrotel chain will further expand, offering guests a wider selection of vacation destinations across the country. The chain notes an increase

in preparation for a year in which tourists from around the world will return to enjoy the Israeli hospitality experience at the chain’s hotels”. Maya Shalev, VP of Marketing and Sales at Fattal Hotels: “The Fattal Hotels chain views inbound tourism as a strategic growth engine. Alongside the complex security period we have experienced in Israel, we have continued to invest, develop, and grow out of faith and optimism, knowing that the boom will arrive and tourists will return in droves. Furthermore,

the renewal of operations by international airlines particularly encourages us, and we are happy to see direct routes resuming from many countries, which allows inbound tourism to gradually revive. At the same time, we are accelerating the pace of the chain’s expansion in Israel as well, as part of a deep belief in the immense potential of the Israeli destination. In the coming year, we will complete a

collection, and the Bazaar, Nucha, The Reception, and Nordoy Hotel hotels from the Fattal Colors boutique hotel collection in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Additionally, the Leonardo Plaza City Tower business hotel will soon open after a full year of comprehensive renovations. As of today, the Fattal Hotels chain is the largest chain in Israel, with 66 hotels (46 operational and 20 under construction) spread from the North to the South, allowing us to cater to every target audience: family vacations, business tourism, couples’ getaways, and luxury resorts. We are currently promoting the establishment of three additional hotels, in Jerusalem (NYX), Tel Aviv (The Office), and Eilat, followed by new luxury resorts in the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee, alongside a hotel in Tel Aviv’s Mesila Park and a historic hotel in Jerusalem’s Zion Square. In the international arena, we are investing in targeted campaigns in Europe and the United States, strengthening ties with tourism agencies, airlines, and governmental organizations, and creating dedicated packages for various target audiences. We will also participate in the important tourism fairs in London and Berlin, where we will present Israel as a leading, safe, and attractive

tourist destination. At Fattal Hotels, we believe that the path to foreign tourism recovery runs through an uncompromising hospitality experience. To this end, we are investing in advanced technologies for guest experience management, developing personalized services, and upgrading our digital infrastructure. Our message to the world is clear: ‘Israel is waiting for you, and we at the Fattal Hotels chain are waiting to host you warmly, with love, and with professionalism”. Yael Froman Ideses, VP & Tourism Director - Tel Aviv Global: “Tel Aviv Global & Tourism is leading a strategic effort to restore inbound tourism to the city as the security

beauty, uniqueness, and depth of Tel Aviv. Targeting key audiences in Western Europe and North America, the campaign will highlight the city’s resilience and nonstop energy. In addition, the company will roll out a new professional online training program for travel agent, focused primarily on North American markets, to reconnect travel professionals and visitors with the city’s latest attractions, hotels, museums, and experiences. Tel Aviv Global will also continue its partnerships with decision-makers in the North American Jewish travel community, strengthening the city’s position as a leading destination in Israel for educational, multi-generational, and congregational groups. In parallel, Tel Aviv Global will host a new tourism industry conference to encourage collaboration and innovation within Israel’s tourism sector, while continuing to promote Tel Aviv as a top destination for both leisure and business travel. FAM trips, exposure tours, and joint marketing initiatives with local stakeholders will further highlight the city’s dynamic hospitality scene and reinforce Tel Aviv’s status as Israel’s international gateway”.

THE OLD CITY OF AKKO INVITES YOU TO DISCOVER ITS SECRETS ABOVE GROUND AND BELOW

Old Akko (Acre) is a port city situated on a peninsula on the Mediterranean coast in northern Israel. It is known for its well-preserved old city walls. A visit to this ancient city is an important part of the Holy Land experience and one of Israel’s main tourist destinations. Currently home to thousands of residents, Akko is a study of contrasts – the convergence of East and West, modernity and antiquity, beauty and ruins. Known for centuries as the gateway to the Holy Land due to its location as a port of entry for international dignitaries and trade, Akko provides a unique glimpse into the Crusader and Ottoman periods in the region. The subterranean crusader city was revealed and restored under the Ottoman city above. This extraordinary phenomenon was .awarded World Heritage Site by UNESCO POINTS OF INTEREST: The Knights Halls A 5,000-year old story unfolds inside the halls of the citadel - the museum’ displays and films projected on the walls tell the story of the crusades. During this tour, each visitor receives a guiding device, and can choose one of 10 different languages. The Hospitaller Order, which thrived in Jerusalem during the First Crusader Kingdom (1099-1187) transferred its headquarters to Akko during the Second Crusader Kingdom (1191-1291). The Hospitallers expanded their headquarters and rebuilt the site,

which consisted of two to three floors around a central court as well as underground sections. The Templars Tunnel The Templars were a military-monastic order who – in the name of the pope – aided pilgrims and the ailing coming from Europe to visit the holy sites of the Land of Israel. MORE POINTS OF INTEREST: The colorful Market Street and Bazaars are the main thoroughfare of the Old City, running from north to south. One cannot visit the city without tasting the delicious dishes at the wonderful Chef Restaurants and paying a visit at the unique Boutique Hotels. A ferry from Akko to Haifa and from Haifa to Akko is a special experience that offers tourists the chance to enjoy the spectacular views of the cities by sea (times being subject to weather condition). There are Churches, Mosques and Synagogue in Old Akko. Some of them are opened to visits. The “Or Torah” Synagogue in the new city is a site worth seeing. So is the “Al Basha” Turkish Bath and the Seraya, a structure built during Turkish rule in Akko, in the late 18th century, where the offices of the civilian regime officials were located. It is also recommended to visit the galleries in the Old City and the “Okashi” Art Museum as well as the “Treasures in the Walls” Museum.

Swiss is Back! Airline Resumes Zurich-Tel Aviv Route

Travelers are already finding attractive deals; round-trip tickets to Zurich for the winter schedule are available on the Swiss website starting from just 260 USD. Swiss is not alone in its return. Other carriers in the Lufthansa Group have also been steadily resuming service to Israel: Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines restarted flights in early August. Brussels Airlines followed, returning on August 13th. Eurowings is currently scheduled to resume operations at the end of October, pending security developments. The collective return of these major European carriers underscores the strong and sustained demand for travel to and from Israel, signaling a significant step toward the normalization of air travel in the region. Scandinavian Airlines will also resume services next week, reinstating its Copenhagen–Tel Aviv route after a nine-year hiatus, alongside German budget airline Eurowings and Swiss International Air Lines. Italian flag carrier ITA Airways and Air India are expected to follow by the end of the year. The return of major European airlines has begun to ease the soaring ticket prices that persisted during months of reduced capacity, with fares for winter travel now falling sharply across key routes.

These subsequent flights will be operated using narrower- body Airbus A321 aircraft. restoring operations. Their return comes amid a broader rebound in international travel to Israel following the ceasefire with Hamas earlier this month and the end of June’s 12- day conflict with Iran. The Israel Airports Authority said around 60 foreign carriers are now flying to Tel Aviv, up from fewer than 20 at the height of the fighting last year.

the return of its flights to Israel. The service had been suspended since June following heightened security concerns in the region. However, the company cited “a response to the high demand for flights on the route” as the reason for accelerating its return. Initially, Swiss will operate

New Financial Leader to Helm El Al Amidst Growing Competition

United Airlines Restarts Nonstop Flights to Tel Aviv from Chicago and Washington

Direct flights aim to boost tourism and business travel, providing convenient access to Israel from the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions

Former CAL Payment Card CEO, Levy Halevy, Steps In as El Al CEO, Replacing Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, as Airline Faces Return of International Carriers

S tarting November 1 and November 2, United Airlines will resume its popular nonstop flights to Tel Aviv (TLV) from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Washington Dulles (IAD) airports. This marks United’s return to these routes since 2023, solidifying its commitment to one of the Middle East’s most sought- after travel destinations. United is the only U.S. carrier to offer these direct flights, providing a seamless travel experience for passengers who previously had to endure connecting flights. The Chicago service will operate four times a week, while the Washington service will run three times a week. This expansion is a significant move for travelers in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, making a trip to Israel more accessible than ever. In addition to these new routes, United recently increased its service from Newark (EWR) to Tel Aviv to twice a day. The airline’s growing network offers

travelers from across the U.S. more choices for both business and leisure travel. Tel Aviv, known for its mix of modern amenities, historical sites, and vibrant tech and academic scenes, is a prime destination for tourists and business travelers alike. The city also serves as a key hub for onward connections to Europe and the UK, adding another layer of convenience for international travelers. United’s long-haul aircraft on these routes are equipped with premium amenities designed for comfort on long, overnight flights. Passengers can enjoy premium seating, satellite entertainment, and a variety of dining options. United continuously evaluates its flight schedules and aircraft to ensure the highest level of operational efficiency, safety, and security. While the San Francisco-Tel Aviv route is currently on hold, the airline remains committed to assessing its network to meet evolving passenger demand.

T he Board of Directors of El Al Israel Airlines has announced the appointment of Levy Halevy (55) as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Halevy, who currently serves as the CEO of the payment card company CAL (Israel Credit Cards), will be stepping down from that role to take the helm at Israel’s flag carrier, replacing the outgoing CEO, Dina Ben Tal Ganancia. Halevy’s selection signals a strategic shift by El Al’s owner, Kenny Rosenberg, to bring in a leader with a strong financial background rather than someone from the aviation or marketing sectors. Halevy is a proven financial executive, credited with transforming CAL into the most profitable company among Israeli payment card firms during his seven-year tenure. Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Discount Bank. This appointment follows the recent finalization of the deal to transfer

ownership of CAL from Discount Bank to the Union Group and Harel Insurance. Halevy takes the reins at a pivotal time. While Ben Tal Ganancia is lauded for dramatically improving El Al’s financial standing, the new CEO will immediately face several significant hurdles: El Al benefited from periods of near-exclusivity over the past two years due to the regional conflict. Halevy must now navigate the return of international airlines to the Israeli market, a development expected to erode the record profits the company achieved during the war. He will be tasked with steering the airline through the volatile and changing landscape of the global aviation market. Halevy will need to maintain the relative industrial peace established by his predecessor with the various labor unions, following years of past conflicts.

The highly anticipated Doria Boutique Hotel, nestled in Moshav Dishon, is an adults- only retreat designed for ultimate relaxation and refined elegance. While its journey has been marked by unforeseen challenges, its promise of an unforgettable, harmonious getaway remains stronger than ever. Now, after a long wait, the hotel is set to welcome its first guests in September 2025. This delay has only heightened the anticipation for what is sure to be one of the region’s most exclusive boutique experiences. Doria is built on a philosophy of meticulous attention to

This award places the Fattal Hotel Chain alongside other leading international chains that have won ITHIC awards in previous years, such as B&B Hotels, Marriott, BWH Hotels, and TH Resorts, highlighting Fattal’s status as a major player in the European hospitality industry. This latest honor follows Fattal’s receipt of the prestigious Grand Prix award at the Hospitality Awards 2024 in Paris last year, where he was named “Hotelier of the Year in Europe”. Upon accepting the award, David Fattal stated: “I thank the awards committee for this esteemed recognition.
