There have been terrific past winners of the Badger Ales trophy, horses evoking the fondest of memories. This year, Present Man bids to become the first horse ever to win the prestigious trophy three years in a row. We hope you can join us to be part of it. Don’t miss celebrating Wincanton’s Big Day Out and join us on Boxing Day as we enjoy one of the county’s finest traditions. Don your tweed, pull on your new hat and gloves, because nothing beats that feeling when you’re out in the fresh air, watching the horses in the pre-parade, meeting friends and cheering the horses to the line. Book your tickets early as this day quickly sells out. Among many great fixtures in the calendar for the new year, we particularly look forward to Betway Kingwell Hurdle Day, Saturday 15th February, which is a key fixture on the road to Cheltenham. Last year’s feature saw Grand Sancy claim the crown for jockey Harry Skelton and Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls. A crowd favourite is set to return for next season with Family Day taking centre stage on Sunday 19th April. Last year saw mascots racing down the home straight, giant inflatables and face paint fun for the little ones. Make the most of two tickets for £30 in advance, including a full list of complimentary family entertainment and don’t forget kids under 18 go free! Get ready for another great season of racing in south Somerset

RACING RETURNS TO the glorious countryside of south Somerset at Wincanton Racecourse to begin what will be a fantastic season of Jump racing. It all kicks off with the Season Opener on Thursday 17th October, and as Thursday is the new Friday we hope you can join us to make the most of a long weekend. Our meeting on Sunday 27th October is in partnership with Combat Stress and named the Combat Stress Centenery Raceday. We’re proud to support the invaluable work of the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans from

every service and conflict. With live music from the Bell Street Jazz Band, make this a date to head down and support an important cause. The card features the Desert Orchid Silver Cup, named after the flamboyant grey who had the hooves of Pegasus and won the hearts of the nation with his bold, front-running style.
