L’entreprise Tekpro a amorcé la démolition de l’imposante résidence du 360 de la rue Front Ouest, à L’Orignal, qui a été ravagée par les !ammes le 19 septembre dernier. Une trentaine de pompiers de cinq départements di"érents avaient alors combattu le brasier, qui avait pris naissance dans le grenier de la résidence de 8000 pieds carrés. Les pompiers avaient dû percer plusieurs trous de ventilation lors de l’incendie et une partie du toit de la résidence s’est même e"ondrée. Selon Tekpro, la démolition prendra quelques jours en raison de la grandeur du bâtiment. À noter qu’une autre maison détruite par le feu en septembre, sise au 760, rue McGill à Hawkesbury, a également été démolie au cours des dernières semaines. Aucun locataire n’avait des assurances en règle au moment de cet incendie et les dégâts d’eau causés par l’intervention ont rendu l’immeuble invivable. (SL)
