What is your most notable project, deal or transaction? Notable Project: Tenant Representation for 7 Brew Coffee. (2021) Plan to do 20+ DE locations over the next couple of years. Recent Deal(s)/Transaction(s): Seasons Pizza, Wingstop, Naz’s Halal Food lease deals at Uno and Farley Plaza in Dover, DE (Spring 2021). What impact has social media/networking had on your career? It cannot be overstated just how incredibly important relationships are in business. Social media and networking have provided me with a greater op - portunity to forge and foster those relationships, expand my audience, and showcase both the listings and the work that I am fortunate enough to be a part of. Although it has been difficult to meet in person for networking events over the past year, social media/networking platforms such as Zoom, Instagram, and LinkedIn have allowed me to stay busy, connected, and informed as to everything that is taking place in our market and around the world. What was the most defining moment for you? I’m not sure it counts as a “moment”, but the most defining period of time during my commercial real estate career thus far has been working through and dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been a difficult time for everyone around the globe, and just like most businesses, the effects of the pandemic were felt in the commercial real estate industry. Covid pushed me to step my game up by working harder, smarter, and more creatively. As society inches forward towards a more normal way of life, I will carry the lessons that I have learned and never take my health, safety, or “normal” for granted. Today, I am confident that I will emerge from the pandemic prepared to take on any challenge that the future may bring. What outside activities do you enjoy during your free time? Whether I am riding my bike, playing basketball, hiking with my girlfriend, or grabbing drinks with friends, I try my best to get outdoors and stay as active as possible during my free time. MAREJ
What is your most notable project, deal or transaction? One of the notable projects that I just worked on was fully leasing out one of my listings in Wilmington. When I got the listing there were 4 vacancies, and managed to fully lease the strip center in just 2 months. Who or what has been the strongest influence in your career? I would have to say that there have been multiple people that have influenced me in my career. Some of the strongest influences would have to come from Tripp Way and Michael Bree. They have been great mentors on how I can grow in the business and how to build your business to start getting referrals. What impact has social media / networking had on your career? I believe that social media and networking have had a huge impact on my ca - reer. In my first couple days in the industry I was told a quote that has really stuck with, “your network determines your net worth”. This quote really does sum of the power of networking because by handing out a business card and talking to one person. You truly don’t know where that relationship can take you down the road. Tell us how and when you began your career in the profession you are in, about your current position and why you choose the field/profession you are in today? I decided that I wanted to be in commercial real estate inside the first 4 hours of starting my internship at DSM Commercial. Just sitting there and listen - ing to phone calls and negotiations with Robert Wittig was the second that I knew that I wanted to go into this industry. Since I decided to go into this field I couldn’t be any happier with my decision. What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time? During my free time you can find me on the golf course with my friends, going to sporting events, and going to the beach. MAREJ
