ONCOLOGY PHYSICAL THERAPY The Oncology Physical Therapists personalize each individual’s treatment plan based on the patient’s goals. These therapists will devise a rehabilitation program that will strive to reduce fatigue, improve physical function, decrease pain, and increase overall wellbeing. Personalized programs will address each phase that cancer and cancer treatment may have on the body. Our Oncology Physical Therapists are also specialists in the diagnosisand treatmentof lymphaticdisordersandwork to re-establish normal function of the body’s elimination system to encourage healing. ONCOLOGY OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY Cancer and its treatment can cause interruptions in how individuals perform their self-care, work, leisure, or social activities affecting a patient’s everyday living including maintainingone’shome, returning towork,andperforming prior social roles and responsibilities adequately. Our Oncology Occupational Therapist has the knowledge and expertise to modify activities and environments to allow individuals to do the things they want and need to do tomaintainqualityof life.Thephysical,emotional,and cognitive implications associated with chemotherapy, radiation,and/orsurgerycan result indecreasedability to engage in thesemeaningfuloccupations.Thiscanhavea profound impact on one’s economic status and personal interactions, which affect quality of life, and well-being.
