Welcome to the April Edition

of the MRG Newsletter!

This has been a month for festivities, with the Easter weekend and Ramadan & Eid celebrated by many of our teams. This means April has come with extra challenges as we navigate long weekends, annual leave commitments and school holidays!

MARKET COMMENTARY

We’ve launched headfirst into Q2 with a promising start on conversions in April Week 1 before a challenging two-week period during the middle part of the month. However, strong interim figures and good March conversions (as well as a couple of fee moves into April) mean that we are on course to exceed the April Group target of £550k which is great news. Looking ahead, conversions have been off the pace over the last couple of weeks so we need to arrest this trend to build up May, June and beyond.

MARKETING UPDATES

BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT GROUP MRG Terms of Business

Last month, MRG reached an incredible 30,000 followers on LinkedIn! And this number is still growing. The biggest spike in followers was observed on 1st March with 657 new followers. We had two posts that day, the ZSL Featured Client announcement (further boosted by tagging the client) and Living Assets and Corporate Real Estate (Austin & Chris M). This demonstrates the effectiveness of original content and tagging our relevant clients and candidates for further reach. If you have any ideas for content, get in touch with Emily. The past month has been spent by many of our colleagues overseas observing Ramadan and celebrating Eid. Our Ramadan interview by Kadija and Alison highlighted the importance of inclusivity and was very well received. If you haven’t checked it out already, you can read all about it here.

New MRG Terms of Business for clients and candidates to be rolled out within the next couple of weeks – Katherine Beesley will be running a Teams training session next month. Company Library - this is growing and will become a one stop shop via the intranet to look for process notes and guidance. Excel Training – we are planning to run a session on excel to trade hints and tips in the next couple of months. AI – we are looking at AI solutions that will help content writing - watch this space!

A huge thank you to all who took part and Eliane and Charlotte for running the sessions last month. To recap: • All briefing forms (Flips, Tiles & Proposals) are now saved on the Intranet right here: B riefing Documents • You can also find all branded assets (linkedin headers, email signature, teams background,

etc) on the Intranet right here: Branded Assets • Here’s the example of Blueprint A (10 pages) • And the example of Blueprint B (12 pages)

SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENT GROUP UPDATE

We are also pleased to announce the rollout of new Candidate Interview Briefing Documents: This document is for consultants to send to candidates when confirming their interviews and contains the basic information a candidate requires in an appealing format. A standardised document in this style demonstrates our professional approach, thus enhancing MRG’s market perception as a senior executive search firm. You will find the MRG and Bids versions here: Interview Confirmation Template Please ensure that once you have inputted all information into the Word file, you then 'save as' a pdf. The document must only be shared with candidates as a pdf.

We had the first of two Bullhorn training sessions on Friday, which was very well received, and people were able to utilise having a trained Bullhorn person on hand to answer any questions they had on how to use the system. If you missed this session, don’t forget we are running another workshop next Friday, 5th May. Coming up next week, the team will be having a demo from Bullhorn, as if we are new clients. This is for them to demonstrate the full capabilities of Bullhorn are. This will give us a new perspective; potentially discover aspects we’re not using to its full potential in order to make some quick wins. It may be simple redesigns in the way we utilise the system, since we moved to Bullhorn 8 years ago it might be helpful to look at it with fresh eyes. This will help us develop bullhorn so it can work better for us.

A note on Brand fonts:

For body copy use Roboto Light in 12pt. For sub-headers use Roboto Bold. For HEADERS & TITLES use Space Mono Regular in ALL CAPS or normal. The MRG fonts are also saved in the Other folder under MRG Fonts.

Please make sure to install these fonts onto your computer if you haven’t already. Thank you!

LINKEDIN TRAINING UPDATE – APRIL The next training module for April is Recruiter and the good news is, this module overlaps significantly with Business Development and Sourcer, so if you’ve completed the previous two modules, you will have completed a lot of this already. All resources for Recruiter can be found here: Education Plan - Staffing (role specific).pptx on page 5 . I have highlighted in red the modules that have already been covered previously so feel free to skip these. This leaves three, 5 minute sections, which are as follows: Tutorial- 5 minutes Searching for Contractors with LinkedIn Recruiter Tip Sheet- 5 minutes Attract Talent with Your Job Posts Tutorial- 5 minutes Start Recruiting Proactively I’ve had feedback from a number of people requesting tutorials around attracting talent with job posts. I have had a read through the tip sheet “Attract Talent with Your Job Posts” and I think the “quick tips” right at the bottom of the page should be somewhat useful. Try it out on your posts and let me know how you get on.

LIGHTHOUSE TRAINING CLUB IS NOW LIVE!

As you may be aware, we are long time sponsors of the Lighthouse Club charity, which does amazing work supporting the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families. The Lighthouse Club has recently launched a Wellbeing Academy platform for Mental Health resources, which includes a wealth of self-paced e-learning through to online tutor led masterclasses. As sponsors, these are free for us to access.

Some of the self-paced courses are around managing Anxiety & Stress, Budgeting, Building Resilience and Resolving Conflict. A full list of courses and how to register can be found here. The Masterclasses are delivered via Zoom, taking roughly 30-40 minutes each, and as part of Mental Health week 2023 we will be sharing details of them over the next few weeks. They include:

GOT AN IDEA? WE WANT TO HEAR IT!

Don’t forget, we are always looking for new ideas and we want everyone to get involved in the growth and change within the business. If you think of any specific training you, or your team would like to see, or you have an idea around socials, business improvement, or anything else ad hoc – all ideas are valid and welcome, and we want to hear it. Please send a note to ideas@mrgpeople.co.uk.

Leena Lais

We recently conducted an internal survey asking the team who they believe embodies our four core values to be; Inclusive, Relentless, Forensic and Inventive. Congratulations to Nick Coppard whom his colleagues nominated for embodying Relentless. Nick is Business Sector Director for our Real Estate Development Practice that operates in the Education, Health, Science and Public Sector markets. He is relentless in his approach to delivering outstanding results for our clients at all stages of recruitment campaigns, and most notably sets an example by persevering to deliver high-quality and diverse shortlists against very challenging briefs in highly competitive markets. And a big shout out to Emily for supporting the business units with brand recognition, original content creation for many consultants, and she’s done a great job regenerating the featured client page in the last few months. The Management Recruitment Group is a values-driven business, and those values underpin everything we do.

Fun Filled 50th Happy Birthday to Mel, who celebrated a milestone birthday with her family at home and also in the office with colleagues. Daughter Katie made a fabulous cake and gremlin cupcakes, stayed in a grand hotel and received a bountiful bouquet from the team at MRG.
