WDCGA: Women’s District of Columbia Golf Association

The Women’s District of Columbia Golf Association closed out the primary summer schedule with the 4 Lady Anniversary Tournament at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club. The team of Susan Walthall, Gwen House, Amy Dewitt, and Jill VanTine placed 3rd net. In previous tournaments, the team of Tina and Tom Gwilliam placed 4th Gross at Westwood Country Club in the annual Calomiris Church Cup. This tournament is the only tournament allowing a male guest. ANCC players finished strong in the August cups which were held August 5th at the Country Club of Woodmore. Karen Marcotte brought home the Class C York Flower Bowl with Christina Young winning low net. Jaehwa Kim won the Class D Kaufman Cup with Kelly Martin winning 2nd net. In the Class B Coffman Cup, Lisa Moore came in at 2nd net. With the season winding down there are 4 tournaments remaining with only one in September. Players who are age 50 or better may compete for the WDCGA Senior Championship at Springfield Country Club on September 24th. Does this sound fun? If your handicap index is 21.9 or below and you are a member of CWGO or the 18 hole WGO, you are eligible to join WDCGA. Once a member, you can remain a member as long as you pay dues. The membership year runs from 1 Nov. to 31 Oct. with dues of approximately $75 per year. You can join at any time; however, if you are interested in participating in Team Match Play, please notify Margaret Ann Connors that you are interested. Team match play is conducted on weekdays in April and May. Teams are formed in November based on 1 Nov. handicap indexes. Players who may not be able to commit to the schedule can opt to be substitutes as needed. WDCGA provides an excellent opportunity to meet female golfers throughout the DMV and play many other country clubs. If you have any questions, please contact your ANCC representative to WDCGA: Margaret Ann Connors (240) 620-6903 maconnors09@yahoo.com. I can add you to my email group so that you don’t miss the opportunity to join the group when registrations and renewals are due.
