MOFs on GDEs for electrochemical CO 2 reduction Francesca Greenwell 1 , Stefano Magliocco 2 and Sascha Ott 1 1 Uppsala University, Sweden, 2 University of Turin, Italy

(Photo-)Electrocatalysts are essential for making the production of solar fuels and can be broadly divided into two categories: metallic and molecular. While metallic catalysts have the advantage of stability and a high density of sites, molecular catalysts often surpass them in tunability and selectivity. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are large porous networks which have the possibility to combine the advantages of both metallic and molecular catalysts. Here the activity of different MOF gas diffusion electrodes (GDEs) for CO 2 reduction will be benchmarked in a zero-gap electrolyser, investigating the activity across different MOF catalysts and GDE fabrication methods. Project funded by the Knut & Alice Wallenberg foundation.
