The WGO-18 ladies began their new season hosting a series of clinics with new golf pro and Director of Player Development Rachel Belanger! The two-day Washington Memorial Tournament will be held in May, along with Play Days Tuesdays at Arlington and Fridays at Fairfax. It’s not too late to join! WNHGO’s first official event of the 2024 season, the Spring Jamboree took place on 12 April. Shout-out to the 1st place winning team comprising Shannon Bibb, Loretta Houston, Libby Langworthy, and Michelle Mehta. The 2nd place team included Marcia Carlucci, Jo Ellen Fowler, Becky Fulgham, and Marty Griswold. Also, congratulations to the winners of WNHGO’s Winter Golf competition, Maureen Carita (1st place) and Marty Griswold (2nd place). Upcoming May/June Events : Memorial Cup – a 2-day stroke play tournament in Fairfax May 14 & 21. Entry fee $7. Also, June 8/9 is the Annual Army Navy Ladies Member Guest Tournament. It’s a two-day event in Fairfax and Arlington with lots of great food, drinks, and prizes. WDCGA
The Women’s District of Columbia Golf Association celebrated 100 years of Great Women, Great Sportsmanship, Great Golf at Chevy Chase Club, one of her founding clubs, on Saturday April 20, 2024. Our legacy was shared via slideshows, video-taped messages, and a panel discussion exploring and sharing 100 years of impact, influence and achievement of the organization and her members. LPGA Tournament Manager, Morgan Bulliard displayed the Solheim Cup, encouraged attendance and volunteerism, and reviewed the impact of Women’s Golf Organizations on women’s golf. Pictures and scrapbooks covering 100 years can be found on the website: WDCGA.org. Anniversary SWAG can be purchased at very reasonable prices via the website until 20 May 2024.
