Brent explained some of the things he focuses on when driving. “Following distance is an important one,” Brent says. “You need to leave a gap between you and the driver ahead of you because you never know when you are going to need to stop. Another one is mirrors. You need to be checking the small ones too. It’s easy to just check the big one, but it’s safer to check all of them.” Brent adds that overall awareness is important. “I pay close attention to the overhead clearance signs,” he says, “making sure I have enough space.” BRENT HAWKS
