LUSHING, NY — Steve Chen , COO for national manufacturer Crystal Window & Door Systems , was the honoree for St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children (St. Mary’s Kids) at the hos- pital’s Tribute Dinner. Nearly 300 leaders in the NYC regional construction and real estate industry joined Crystal and Chen at the gala affair. Crystal and the Chen family have been actively involved in many Queens and New York area non-profit and chari- table organizations since the company started in 1990. In particular, Crystal focuses on educational and art initiatives, and organizations celebrating and preserving the cultural heritage of Taiwan. Chen has also been recognized by Crain’s New York Business as a 40 Under 40 business leader and by Glass Magazine as a 20 Un- der 40 young executive in the architectural glass field. Chen has served as a judge for the prestigious national Window & Door Magazine fenestration industry awards programs for several years, and he has been honored by The Child Center of NY and the Queens Library Foundation. Guests were welcomed by St. Mary’s Kids president & CEO Dr. Edwin Simpser and The Reverend Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello. Board member and event co- chair Jeff Levine , president of Douglaston Development and Levine Builders , who has worked with Chen for many years, introduced the honoree.
