The meeting was opened with a de votional half hour, in which Mr. Frothdicky read a couple of verses from the Shorter Bible and spoke on the infancy of the Master and the in fluence it had upon the Cradle Roll. Rabbi Methewitz made a beautiful prayer and Professor Wardsky sang “ O Think of the Home Over Here.” Following the devotions Mr. Gepe Maines read a paper entitled, “ Leop ard Spots,’’ showing how beautiful it typified the inspiration of the Scrip tures and commended the Shorter Bible Committee for being able to pick out the spots. This was followed by a general discussion and it was the opinion of the majority that there were still more spots than necessary and that the Shorter Bible should be revised in the light of more modern scholarship and recent findings. At this time a telegram was read from the university announcing that Pro fessor Digger had just discovered a skeleton that promises to be the miss ing link between the dog and the monkey. The tail bone is estimated to be about four inches long, though it is missing, also three of the legs and the skull and most of the trunk have not been found yet. but this promises to be an epoch-making discovery. From the strata it is estimated that it is 14,193 years old. The bone that he has discovered is being forwarded and will be on exhibition in the Homi- letical Department of the university. Just before the dinner hour Mr. Chris. Greasner spoke on the use of

JEREMIAH OF THE OZARKS AT TENDS A POSTMXLI i ENNIAX i FUNDAMENTAL CONFERENCE We are still human, and a little humor is good for the organs of the body. Sometimes solemn truths are illumined by a little sarcasm, and clarified when illustrated by the silli ness of error. “ Jeremiah” 'has done this in his “ Conference Report.” Mr. Dear Rector: Jeremiah of the Ozarks takes his typewriter in hand to answer your welcome letter and to assure you that he is contending for “ the faith once delivered to the ‘ain’ts’.” I have just returned from a great conference on fundamentals held by the Post Millennialists given by the University of the Windy City at the Oneatarian Church, 666 Apollyon avenue. We had there the leading scholars of this world and they brought to us the nonsensus of schol arship in a most profound manner. Everything was ideal. The wéather outside was very hot, several were re ported to have died with sun stroke and it reminded me of the place I once preached about before I attendfed the seminary, but in the church it was cool, almost too cool to be comfort able, and as I sat there and shivered I remembered that some of these preachers once believed in a lake of fire that was eternal, but I felt con vinced that if there is such a place and all these fellows should be cast in at once it would make a good place to skate.

The SuccessfulPastor Must be a successful church manager. He must make people think about his church. He must make them talk about it. To increase thei attendance at his church he must reach people who do not attend it— and make them want to come and see what’s “ doing.” Personal work is good, but its possibil ities are necessarily limited. The Parish Paper Idea

Is an idea that has been tested and has proven its worth. The parish paper can be made to reach every man, woman and child in your community. With it you can talk to every one of them— you can tell them what you are doing— and what you want to do--- and what they can do. With it you can extend the glad hand to all. IT WILL Advertise your church. Increase the attendance. Encourage the auxiliaries. Be an assistant pastor. Save you much hard labor. Put m oney in your pocket or your church treasury. Aid every financial arm o f the^ church. Keep non-resident members in touch with your church. Increase your prestige. Put you in personal contact with business men.
