The Early Bird Gets It Done
“Getting up early is my chance to work out, journal, read, and do things for myself. It’s my ‘me time,’” she says.
As for how being a 6AMer has impacted her business, “I get more done by lunchtime than most people do in a day. It puts me in control and gives me a sense of accomplishment.” Yasmin has also found that she feels more in control of her hectic everyday schedule when her feet hit the floor before the sun. She prioritizes knocking out her to-do list prior to 7AM so once her clients are ready to do business, she can focus wholly on them and their needs. She says she has also found more family time and flexibility in her day to spend with her kids, since her to-do list is crossed off early in the day. Yasmin has learned a lot as a 6AMer, including the power of a supportive network. She has a standing 4:30AM call with a fellow Compass agent in Washington, D.C. each day. Her favorite guest speaker has been Larry Kendall, author of Ninja Selling, an experience Yasmin describes as “so interesting and reaffirming.” She also loves hearing from top executives and agents from within Compass.
Yasmin Saad is probably more productive before the sun rises than most people. That’s largely thanks to her participation in Compass’ 6AMers. A nationwide group of Compass agents and staff members, the 6AMers get together every morning at — you guessed it — 6AM. Yasmin, along with hundreds of others, hope to get up early each day and do something to enrich themselves. The programming varies based on the day of the week, and includes Q&As with 6AMers as well as live interviews with people of influence within Compass. There’s even a book of the month, with an author Q&A. Yasmin joined the 6AMers in August 2020 to add an extra layer of accountability to her morning routine. She says she likes being surrounded by like-minded people who are trying to grow as both individuals and professionals. She enjoys waking up early, having been an early riser since middle school, when she began swimming competitively. When she started working, her alarm was set for 5AM, which turned into 4:25AM once her kids came along.
