IT STARTS WITH YOU Our Team’s Commitment to Your Success

Our office motto is simple: We help you feel better, move better, and live better. But what does it truly mean to “live better”?

As we approach Extraordinary Work Team Recognition Day on Dec. 4, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what makes our team special. From the front desk staff to our physical therapists and therapist assistants, we work together seamlessly, focused on improving our patients’ comfort, health, and mobility. But here’s the key — our patients are also crucial members of their personalized care team. They’re the most important members. Sharing their goals with us ensures ongoing communication and collaboration throughout their physical therapy journey. Together, we can help them achieve their goals and live better. Every member of a patient’s care team plays a vital role. Often, the front desk’s importance goes unnoticed — they’re the ones who schedule appointments, manage insurance, and ensure paperwork is in order so treatment can begin smoothly. While our therapists and assistants are here to make the magic happen, it all begins with you, the patient. Physical therapists might be seen as coaches, but we rely heavily on patient input. It’s important for us to understand what matters most to you so we can tailor your treatment accordingly. While we document, evaluate, and track certain milestones, the real focus is on what you want to get back to. What are your goals? Once we know what you hope to achieve, we can work together more effectively to help you reach that goal.

Some patients walk into our office with prior therapy experience and know what to expect. But others come to us with fear, worried that movement might worsen their condition. Our job is to demonstrate how the right movements can promote healing and recovery. As they progress, patients begin to understand, and that initial fear transforms into motivation and confidence in their journey toward healing. What are your goals? Do you want to play on the floor with your grandkids? Improve your range of motion? Return to a favorite sport or activity? You are the leader of your care team, and we’re here to help you reach those goals — and likely even exceed them. It’s incredible what our patients achieve. Our bodies are resilient, and with the right communication, teamwork, and support, so much is possible! We love to watch patients come in and beat their own perceptions of what they can achieve. In the end, it all starts with you. What would you like to achieve? Set that goal and champion your team!

REFERRALS WELCOME! A referral is the greatest compliment you could ever give us. If you know someone in need of our expert services, we welcome the opportunity to help! Feel free to pass along this newsletter, or have them give us a call at (858) 675-1133. We greatly appreciate it!

Garner Your Best Week Yet JENNIFER’S 7-DAY ROUTINE FOR BUSY MOMS

Snack smart when you cheat. Garner doesn’t have a scheduled cheat day; instead, she snacks smart when she craves a little treat. Popcorn is a low-fat and tasty option for the whole family. Though her favorites are blue corn chips and chocolate, she also makes “pizza crackers” — baked pizza dough without the toppings. Garner’s seven-day game plan is the ultimate hack for busy moms who want to stay fit. By sticking to her easy-to-follow routine of nutritious meals, fun workouts, and mindful indulgences, you can take on the week like a true superstar!

If you’ve ever wondered how Jennifer Garner balances being a Hollywood star, a fit mom, and a culinary queen all at once, you’re in luck! Her seven-day game plan includes healthy meals, fun workouts, and hacks to stay in shape while getting her three kids to school. From “big fat salads” for lunch to finding a workout routine you can turn to every day, here’s how you can revamp your weeks just like America’s sweetheart. Start the day off right. The actress starts her day at 5 a.m. with a cup of coffee. She then does the same morning workout: a mix of dance cardio, plyometrics, and strength training. She said her fitness routine is not about how you look or fit into clothes; it’s about building your strength and pushing yourself. So, if you want to boost your health before getting your kids ready for the day, wake up early and get a workout in. Eat the same healthy meals. Want a hack for healthy meals Monday through Sunday? The “13 Going on 30” star eats the same food for breakfast and lunch almost every day. For breakfast, she opts for whole-fat yogurt with fruit, nuts, and an apple. At lunchtime, she likes a healthy fat-filled salad filled with hearty vegetables, dark greens, cheese, and nuts. She also prepares roasted sweet potatoes she can easily reheat and toss into salads throughout the week.

Is your insurance changing in 2025? It is important to keep your payment details and insurance information up to date to avoid surprise costs. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR INSURANCE! If you know your insurance coverage or company is changing, make sure to stop by the front desk or give us a call at 858-675-1133. Our patient care coordinators can get the details so there are no delays in care starting in the new year. Are you turning 65 in 2025? You will be eligible for Medicare in the month you are born. Why Your Body Needs Omega-Packed Foods DON’T FEAR THE FAT

The word “fat” might sound like something to avoid on your wellness journey, but not all fats are created equal. Certain unsaturated fats are essential for keeping your heart strong, brain sharp, and energy levels steady. Knowing which fats to add to your plate can take your health goals to the next level. Get ready for a healthy serving of omega fats as we explore three of the best foods to fuel your body and improve your overall well-being. Salmon Salmon is one of the best sources of omega fats and one of the most nutrient-rich foods you can find on the whole planet. Not only does it contain omega fats, which support a healthy nervous system, heart, and brain, but it also contains quality protein and multiple nutrients. By adding this tasty and popular fish to your plate, you can reap a wealth of benefits like lower cholesterol levels, healthy blood pressure, strong bones, improved brain function, and reduced risk of stroke, just to name a few. Avocado Avocados are a superfood, and while they are high in fat, they’re the good kind. This creamy and indulgent fruit also contains a high amount of vitamin E and provides a healthy serving of dietary fiber. Add this green superstar to salads or toast to get the nutrient booster you need

to maintain weight, reduce heart disease risk, control blood sugar, and improve brain function.

Nuts Nuts are heart-healthy snacks that provide protein, fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, and beneficial monounsaturated fats. When you incorporate these into your

diet, your heart will benefit. Studies have found that nuts can help reduce the risk of diabetes and lower cholesterol levels. Almonds, pistachios, and walnuts are all wonderful options to try out. Just make sure you moderate how much you eat, as they are high in calories. These nutrient-packed foods taste great and provide essential benefits to keep your heart, brain, and body functioning at their best. So, next time you prepare your plate, don’t fear fats! Embrace the healthy ones that fuel your body.
