Announcing the 2025 Summer Theatre Season!
Gabby Versnick enthusiastically declares, “I am the owner and cookie artist of The Cool Cookie Kitchen, which has been operational since March of 2023.” This bakery specializes in premium sugar cookies created from high-quality ingredients, decorated with elaborate royal icing details. Gabby highlights their delectable ginger snap, featured during the holiday season. Meanwhile, Sarah Chartrand launched Happily Handmade in March 2022, specializing in decadent flavoured marshmallows, which are, as Gabby shares, “Unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.” The upcoming Cookies & Cocoa with Santa is being facilitated through a collaboration between these businesses. Gabby and Sarah express their hope to continue this partnership through an annual Cookies & Cocoa with Santa celebration. The inspiration for Cookies & Cocoa with Santa began as a festive event for children, which has since been built into a vision of uplifting local entrepreneurs while supporting the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank. This event is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Sunday, December 8th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Moreover, Cookies & Cocoa with Santa will be held at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites St. Thomas, located at 275 Highview Drive. Open to the public, these festivities will entail an array of activities not limited to the following: balloon art by Dotsy and her team, writing letters to Santa and Story Time with Santa -- all of which are included in the price of admission. Story Time with Santa is graciously sponsored by Ashley Brown of The Mortgage Group and will be operating on December 7th at 12:15 pm, as well as on December 8th at 12:40 pm. Regarding their sold-out professional photos with Santa, Gabby voices, “We would like to thank Ainslee Tracey of Royal LePage for sponsoring Santa and the photographer in order to make those photo sessions affordable for those families, and to allow any additional funds to go to the Food Bank.” A gourmet cocoa station will be presented, where guests are welcome to pair their $2.50 drink with deliciously flavoured marshmallows. There will also be a ‘Paint Your Own Cookie’ centre, wherein XL cookies and food colouring pallets are provided -- costing $7.00 for one, or $12.00 for two.
