Erie Silver Metalsmithing by Peri Hayes While working with jewelry for a number of years, Sara Adam enthusiastically launched Erie Silver Metalsmithing in 2023. The company name meaningfully represents Sara’s connection to the lake and the inspiration that being by the water — specifically Little Beach in Port Stanley — has given her: “I would dream and sketch designs,” she whimsically recalls. Presently, Sara focuses on expressive and playful earrings, necklaces and rings, “Turning something simple into beauty.” She utilizes durable materials which she enjoys working with, her personal favourite being the Tourmaline gemstone. In addition to working with beads and skillful wire wrapping, Sara has dedicated time to study literature about ancient jewelry literature which fascinates her. She has also completed the Artistic Welding course at Fanshawe College in St. Thomas. Sara has a background in science and earned her degree in Geology, to which she passionately details, “I get really excited about rocks, minerals and gems. My work is all hand fabricated from fine and sterling silver and natural, ethically sourced gemstones. I also use recycled silver quite a lot in my designs.”

Asked what excites Sara about her business, she admirably shares, “Taking a piece of my brain and putting it into jewelry that is pleasurable to look at and to feel. I call them ‘wearable art’. I love working with silver and stones, bringing these designs to life.” This incredible artist is grateful to be sharing her creations with the world. With worldwide shipping, Sara’s work is available through her eriesilver.ca website. Sara thoughtfully describes her target audience at Erie Silver Metalsmithing: “Those wishing to express themselves in a fun way!” Sara is proud to
