HOW TO GET JUSTICE AFTER A TRUCKING ACCIDENT YOU NEED EXPERIENCE ON YOUR SIDE! Every 15 minutes, a semi-truck is involved in an accident that leads to a death or severe injury. That statistic touched our community here in North Carolina this winter. You might remember waking up to the news on Feb. 2 of a crash on US Route 13 near NC37 in Gates County. A tractor trailer was headed south that morning when it smashed into a northbound car in the dark. A 41-year-old man named Michael Faulk died in the collision. Sadly, Michael is not alone. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, big trucks account for nearly half of all injuries and fatalities in occupational accidents. Hundreds of runaway trucks slam into cars every year, obliterating everything they encounter. Sometimes these accidents happen because the truck driver was speeding. But exhaustion, distracted driving, intoxication, and faulty brakes can also be to blame. The one thing these crashes almost always have in common is the devastation they cause and the broken families they leave behind. If you or someone you know is injured in a commercial trucking accident, you shouldn’t just call the first personal injury lawyer who comes up on Google. Trucking cases are nuanced and can quickly get complicated when multiple companies and insurance policies are involved. To get the justice you deserve, you need an experienced truck accident attorney — and you can find one on our team at Harman Law. We’ve been handling commercial trucking accident cases for years and can quickly determine whether the accident in question was caused by a commercial vehicle (like a big rig, van, or truck towing a trailer) and which steps you should take to get the compensation you deserve.
