OSBA presents awards by Ian Leishman The Old South Business Association (OSBA) proudly hosted the Old South Business Awards at the Idlewyld Inn on November 14th, celebrating the contributions of local businesses and community leaders. The Business Excellence Award was jointly awarded to Sidetrack Café and Locomotive Espresso for their remarkable efforts in supporting the Black Walnut Café after its de- vastating fire. Together, they selflessly raised $13,947 through online contributions, a raffle, donations of coffee sales on Wednesdays, and sales of the “Cafés of Old South” poster, showcasing outstanding generosity and teamwork. The Local Champion Award honoured Margaret Hopkins for her tireless dedication to Old South London. Her involvement in countless initiatives has improved the quality of life for residents and provided steadfast support for local businesses, enriching the neighbourhood’s vibrancy and economy.
The People’s Choice Award, nominated by both residents and businesspeople, was presented to the Idlewyld Inn. This cherished historic landmark offers fine dining, elegant gatherings, and a luxury spa, embodying Old South’s charm and heritage.
