Have you ever thought about how amazing our ability to walk is? It is a complex system of muscles, nerves, and joints working together in harmony to lift you up. But what if you experience pain while walking? If you experience hip, knee, or leg pain, it could mean that the complex system of your gait has been affected in some way or another. For more information regarding how our treatments can help you, give Kinetix Physical Therapy a call today! What causes knee and hip pain? Knee and hip pain occur when the joints and muscles surrounding those areas lack their normal function. If the joint isn’t functioning properly, it can alter one’s mobility, which will increase pressure on the area. This can cause the area to become inflamed, thus resulting in pain. If you are experiencing hip pain, you may have pain inside of your hip or in your groin area. If you are experiencing pain outside of your hip, in your upper thigh, or buttock region, then it is likely that there is a problem with the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or soft tissues surrounding the hip joint.

If you are experiencing knee pain, the same can be true. The pain might be rooted in the areas surrounding the joint or in the kneecap (patella). Unfortunately, if this area becomes inflamed, then the tissues surrounding the kneecap will become tighter with less space for the kneecap to move, causing the padding to be inflamed and grow thicker which leads to less joint fluid. The result is more friction and pain. Regardless where the knee or hip pain is stemming from, the pain is typically caused by injury (meniscus tear) or strain to the joint or surrounding regions; however, the pain can also be due to an underlying disease, such as arthritis. HOWPHYSICAL THERAPY HELPS HIP&KNEE PAIN

When relieving knee and hip pain, it is important to make sure that normal motion is restored. Our physical therapists at Kinetix Physical Therapy are trained in evaluating your movement to determine the root of your problem. After this is determined, your physical therapist will create a treatment regimen specific to your pain and will restore the affected area to its normal mobility and strength. We have years of success in helping patients with their physical needs, eliminating their need for harmful drugs, expensive testing, or harsh surgeries. Our goal is to help you move and walk as comfortably as possible. Schedule a consultation with one of our physical therapists today and get back on track to a pain-free life! Here are some suggestions that can help with your inflammation and pain. 1. For DIY ice packs, we recommend (3) parts water to (1) part rubbing alcohol. This combination is cheap, stays flexible, and works perfectly. Frozen vegetables are a great ice pack too! Use it twice a day for 15 minutes and contact us if your pain persists. 2. Laser Therapy is a drug free and surgery free solution. Deep tissue laser therapy relieves inflammation and pain associated with sprains and strains, low back pain, disc dysfunction, shoulder and knee pain, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, soft tissue injuries, carpal tunnel, and much more! 3. Try a Foot Levelers custom scan of your feet. Your feet could be the culprit of multiple symptoms of pain in your body, including your feet, knees and hips.

To try laser therapy and the Foot Levelers scan, call our office at 352- 505-6665.
