As such, the Board of County Supervisors signed a conditional performance agreement with Southland Concrete to be administered
by the Prince William Indus- trial Development Authority. The agreement includes a $40,000 incentive grant for relocation, renovation and equipment costs from the County’s Economic Develop- ment Opportunity Fund. Southland Concrete is a rec- ognized leader in the construc- tion industry and manufac- tures cast-in-place concrete for a variety of commercial struc- tures in the Greater Wash- ington, DC metropolitan area. The company performs tilt-up concrete construction for a variety of applications includ- ing warehouse, data centers
and blast-proof progressive collapse office buildings, foun- dations and flat work for steel frame construction, podium construction, specialty proj- ects such as parking garages, museums, retaining walls and other commercial structures. Southland Concrete projects in PrinceWilliamCounty include the Montclair Community Library, Tribute at Heritage Village, Novant Health Prince William Medical Center, Na- tional Museum of the Marine Corps, Heritage Hunt, FBI Training Facility, George Ma- son University, Jiffy Lube Live and many others. n
Supervisors recently an- nounced Southland Con- crete Corp. will invest $6 million and add 30 new jobs to Prince WilliamCounty. The Southland Concrete corporate headquarters and yard is new- ly located at 12775 Randolph Ridge Lane, Manassas. Prince William County was selected above other regional jurisdictions due to the ease of access to transportation corridors and a readily avail- able, highly-skilled workforce. The company plans to use the Merritt receives four awards at NAIOP event BALT IMORE , MD — NAIOP-Maryland has named Merritt Construction Ser- vices and Merritt Properties the winners of four Awards of Excellence for the Best Low to Mid-Rise Office, the Best Medi- cal Office, the Best Retail Build- ing and the Best Build-to-Suit Warehouse. In addition, Mer- ritt’s president, Robb Merritt , was honored with the F. Patrick Hughes Legislative Award. This is the third award Merritt has won for this particular project. • Best Medical Office – Mer- ritt’s work for Greater Balti- more Medical Center (GBMC) was a multi-phase effort, total- ing over 13,000 s/f. •Best Retail Building – Mer- ritt Construction Services com- pleted the new 40,000 s/f, full- service Merritt Athletic Club in White Marsh. •Best Build-to-Suit Warehouse – 88,000 s/f industrial building for NAFCO & Congressional Seafood’s new seafood distribu- tion facility Located at 7775 S.
