● A.I. Use of A.I. in the writing or completion of assignments is not permitted. All written submissions must be the result of the student’s labor. HCA reserves the right to extend the full consequences of plagiarism when utilizing A.I. for assignments. ● Do not steal. Stealing will be dealt with severely, including possible expulsion. ● Conduct on school-sponsored trips is expected to conform to the same rules and standards governing student conduct while at school. Discipline Recognizing that man is in a sin-marred condition, we acknowledge that discipline is a necessary part of life. “Now no discipline seems to be joyful for the present; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:11). The immediate goal of discipline is to correct wrongdoing, but the ultimate goal is to effect heart change (I Timothy 1:5; Hebrews 12:11), and to bring the child into a subordinate relationship to the authority of God (Ephesians 6:4). Ultimately it is our hope that discipline at HCA will help students to see their need for salvation from their sins which can only be found in Jesus Christ by grace through faith. (Romans 3:20-26; Galatians 3:22-24). In that lasting solutions to discipline problems come at home, parental involvement is crucial. Many types of discipline systems may be involved, but a truly effective system must in some way involve the parents. The consequences for misbehavior will vary according to the infraction and the student’s history of prior behavior. Student misconduct at HCA is divided into two categories:
● Major Behavioral Infractions ● Minor Behavioral Infractions
Students who violate standards in either category will be subject to discipline as deemed appropriate by the administration. Behavior issues and consequences are recorded and used to determine a student’s eligibility to return in the fall of the next school year.
