○​ Students are not allowed to use any generative AI tools or homework “tutoring” services such as Chegg, Course Hero, and Quizlet (either in school or out of school) on a school assignment unless given specific permission/direction by the teacher. 3.​ Transparency ○​ When students use generative AI in their work, they must disclose this use clearly in their submissions. ○​ Teachers should educate students on how to properly attribute AI-generated content and incorporate it ethically into their work. 4.​ Data Privacy and Security ○​ Personal and sensitive information should not be inputted into AI tools to prevent unauthorized data access and breaches. 5.​ Ethical Use ○​ Generative AI should not be used to create harmful, offensive, or misleading content. 6.​ Supervision and Monitoring ○​ Teachers are responsible for supervising the use of generative AI in their classrooms to ensure compliance with this policy. ○​ HCA will allow independent use of AI (when approved by the teacher) for Juniors and Seniors. Any use for younger students will be controlled by the teacher, i.e. more in a demonstration mode. ○​ The school’s IT department will monitor the usage of AI tools, all web traffic, and provide technical support. Violations Violations of this policy will be addressed according to the school’s code of conduct. Consequences may include, but are not limited to, loss of access to AI tools, academic penalties, and other disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate. Review and Revision This policy will be reviewed annually and revised as necessary to keep pace with technological advancements and evolving educational standards.
