● 6th grade: Playing time should be divided equally among all players ● 7th and 8th grade: Each player should play at least ¼ of the game ● Cuts: There are no cuts at this level. A and B teams are formed, if needed, based on ability. Senior High (Grades 9–12) ● Playing Time: Playing time is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the coach. ● Tryouts: Tryouts will be held to evaluate players prior to forming multiple teams. There may be both a Varsity team (grades 9–12) and JV team (grades 9–12) team. ● Cuts: Cuts should be expected at this level if the demand exceeds the number of available roster positions or if the student does not have the abilities to compete at this level. It is the responsibility of each coach to meet individually with each player that is cut, explain the reason(s) why he/she was cut, answer any questions the player might have, and offer suggestions to help the athlete improve. ● NOTE: A varsity coach, in consultation with the athletic director will determine the size of each team based on the needs of the team. JV teams will be available if the number of potential participants warrants. V. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED ANNUALLY ● KSHSAA Pre-participation Physical Examination Form (6th–12th grade) ● Concussion Form (6th–12th grade) ● KSHSAA Eligibility Form (9th–12th only) ● Completion of NFHS Concussion Course (9th–12th only) ● ImPACT Testing (required for HS, optional for MS) ● Emergency Care Card Information (entered via online registration portal) ● All items should be completed through the online portal at: https://hcakc-ar.rschooltoday.com/ VI. ATHLETIC FEES ● Grades 9–12: $150.00 per sport ● Grades 6–8: $100.00 per sport ● The maximum charge will be two sports per year per student. VII. SCHEDULING The Activities Director(s) is responsible for scheduling games. Practices will be limited to two hours on school days. VIII. INCLEMENT WEATHER In the event that school is canceled due to inclement weather there will be no practices or games for grades 6–12 unless there is a SIGNIFICANT improvement in weather conditions over the
