ANNUAL SPORTS FESTIVAL
Century City’s biggest event of the year is the annual Sports Festival, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024. The entire precinct including parks, roads and canals is abuzz with all kinds of sporting codes over three days.
The busy schedule usually starts on the Fri- day evening with Touch Rugby in Central Park, 5-a-side Football and Netball at Curro, while the first Dragonboat Open kicks off in Grand Central. On the Saturday, it’s the runners’ big day with the Century City Express with Discovery Vitality and 5km Fun Run, drawing the most participants and largest crowd of the weekend. A calendar favourite, runners look forward to a diverse course which meanders through the precinct from just beyond Intaka Island, past the kilometres of canals, through Ratanga Park, with the finish in Central Park.
