IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PROPER WATER CONSUMPT ION H2O HELPLINE

For something that is so necessary for our daily living, water and hydration science can be some of the most confusing topics. Fight the uncertainty, and arm yourself with the following water facts to get on the right path toward proper hydration. Track It In today’s growing digital world, apps and digital notebooks are stashed right in your pocket to make tracking your water intake easy. That means meetingThe Livewell Clinic’s suggested quota of drinking half your weight in ounces is easily attainable. For example, Plant Nanny is a popular water-tracking app that requires you to keep a digital plant alive by “watering it” with the amount of water you drink each day. This can be a fun and easy way for you to hold yourself accountable, track your habits, and find ways to improve. Know What It Does One of the most important benefits of staying hydrated is keeping your kidneys and skin in tip-top shape. Water helps both these organs filter toxins out of your body, which in turn can have a positive impact on your nerves, eye sight, and diabetes risk. Additionally, water can help eliminate headaches, stiffness, and pain. On the flip side, hydrating too much can

oversaturate your body and make daily bodily functions more difficult. This is why tracking can be so helpful. Monitor What’s Polluting It

Sometimes it’s not so much the quantity of water you drink as it is the quality. Every city and town’s water supplies have outside, ecological invaders. Cities may run into problems with old filtration systems and factory runoffs polluting their water with high levels of carcinogens, while rural communities may have issues with animal and farm runoffs. Additionally, landfills and medical and pharmaceutical waste contaminates local bodies of water at surprisingly high rates. At-home water purification systems can help you filter out some of this waste, but only if they are regularly cleaned and monitored. Being mindful of ecological toxins in your water can help you reap the positive benefits water was meant to provide. You don’t have to be a hydrology expert to have a great relationship with your water. Learn more about proper hydration from our experts online at TheLivewellClinic.com or by calling 515.279.9900.
