said, “ Well dene.” The third has only 1 to give his lord—the same as he had received. The lord commanded that the one should be taken from him and given to the one who had 10. When the Lord Jesus returns to earth He will approve or reprove His children for the way in which they have used or failed to use the talents He has given them. August 19, 1951 P art W ith T he H eart Objects: A cardboard heart and a penny. Lesson: We do not give God the best gift when we merely put a piece of money, such as this penny, in the offer ing at church. Christ once said, “ Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s” (Luke 20:25). He was talking about the payment of taxes to the government controlled by Caesar, and He was reminding the people that their lives and hearts belonged to God. This heart which I hold in my hand represents the best gift we can give to God. Of course, we must first accept Christ as Saviour before we can give Him our hearts. Paul realized that the heart was the gift God wanted most and, in writing to one of the churches, he said: “ I seek not your’s, but you” (2 Cor. 12:14). That meant that he wanted Christ to have, not the things these peo ple had—their money—but the people themselves. Some people act as though they thought that all God wanted was a part of their money. When Christ called Matthew, the business man, He did not say, “ Give me your money.” He said, “Follow me.” God can and does u~e money, but He wants the heart to ba given to Him first. Imagine how a young man would feel if the girl whom he loved, when asked to marry him would say, “ I will give you some money, but not my heart.” We often treat God in this same way. When He asks for our hearts, we give Him some money, and try to make ourselves think we have done all that He requires of us. Let us hear God’s Word saying, “ Ren der therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.” When we hear God’s voice speaking to us we should be like Isaiah when he said, “ Here am I; send me” (Isaiah 6:8).
Take my life, and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee; Take my hands, and let them move At the impulse of Thy love, At the impulse of Thy love.

Objects: An electric extension cord connected to a wall outlet, an electric bulb and a dictionary.'
Lesson: There are three ways of learning about electricity. The first to which I want to call your attention is by reading, or taking the word of some one who knows. In Webster’s dictionary I read a definition of electricity, “ An imponderable and invisible force of na ture, used by man to produce light, heat and power.” You can learn much about electricity by reading, if you be lieve what you read. The second way of learning about electricity is to see what it does. I screw the bulb into the socket, press the button, and we have light. If you believe all you see regarding electricity, you will learn much. If I should be foolish enough to re move the bulb and stick my finger into the socket, I would learn about elec tricity in a still different way—by re ceiving a shock. The circumstances could be such that the shock could kill me. By putting my finger in the socket, I would learn something about electricity, but I might be dead as a result. These 3 ways of teaching are referred to in the Bible. In Luke 12:20 we read: “ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou has provided?” It took the shock of death for the rich fool to learn that he should love God more than his pos sessions, and then it was too late for him to be saved. Another way of learning is mentioned in Luke 19. Zacchaeus had climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Jesus. When Jesus called for him to come down, Verse 6 tells us, “ And he made haste, and came down, and received him [Jesus] joyfully.” Zacchaeus was wise in that he did not wait to be shocked to death, but believed when he saw and heard. Jesus, in speaking to Thomas, re ferred to the other way of learning, “ Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed” (John 20:29). Wise boys and girls today will believe the truths from God’s Word when they read them and hear them taught. T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S
