A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTORS As international travel is opening around the world, Webster University remains committed to global citizenship and transformative education through study abroad. While COVID-19 continues to have an impact on Webster University’s global network of campuses and partners, we are pleased to be once again sending students to study abroad this academic year. At present, there are limitations on international travel, border entry, and student visas, which vary by country; however, we have also seen a loosening of restrictions and other positive developments. We stand ready to adapt as needed and continue to provide global education in a way that ensures the safety of our students and the academic integrity of our program offerings. Webster will continue to assess the local impact of its programs and update travel policy accordingly. Throughout this process, Webster continues to promote study abroad programs to students and partner institutions. These directives are oriented to maintain the health and wellbeing of the entire Webster community. The university monitors the U.S. Department of State and Center for Disease Control advisories; and, has also incorporated other international risk reports and COVID metrics into what is now a more wholistic review of program safety. The Office of Study Abroad and WINS maintain close communications with campus leadership across all of our global campus and partner locations. All university travel policies, restrictions and guidance will be shared with students and partners. Additionally, Webster is committed to student wellness and wellbeing and has procured an excellent student health insurance plan for study abroad through GeoBlue, a leader in global medical assistance, health benefits and safety evacuation services. Related to COVID-19, GeoBlue will cover all costs related to the treatment of the virus.
