your tent pegs and move out. Your home will become emptier and your life lonelier, that the son or the daughter may go with the message. Splendid prospects, so-called, will have to be renounced. God’s harvest field demands the best. “Shall we—dare we disappoint Him? Brethren let us rise! He who died for us is watching From the skies. Watching till His royal banner Floateth far and wide, Till He seeth of His travail, Satisfied.” When the mother of the young man realized his condition she graciously offered to release the young woman from the mar riage contract. The parents of the young woman were eager also to have the engagement annulled, but the young woman had been brought up to respect and honor the customs and traditions of her ancestors and she said: “No, he is my legal husband and it is my duty to go to him now that he is ill and care for him.” And so, just a few months before the Bioia Evangelistic Band went to that village the final wedding ceremony was performed and the brave young woman went to join her mother-in-law in the care of her insane husband. When the day came for the wedding ceremony young Li would not take any part in it and another young man was engaged to stand in his place beside the bride to act as his rep resentative in the ceremony. The evangelists write that the faith of both mother and wife has grown stronger daily and the report, of this most touching case closes with the words: “Were it not for the saving grace of our Lord Jesus, how pitiable would have been the condition of this young wife.” This is. only one incident selected from many in the report of only one band. Thirteen bands have reported equally interesting victories. Oh the joy and blessing that’ijhe message of the Cross is bringing into many hearts and homes Cach month! The 169 men of our thirteen Bands are only touching the margin of the need. FOUR HUNDRED MILLIONS OF PEO PLE !!! Do you wonder that our hearts sometimes seem as if they would burst with the longing to see many more bands of consecrated evangelists going out into the uttermost parts of this great land. Would that there were thirty Bioia Evangelistic Bands instead of thirteen! Oh let us all “Pray the Lord of the harvest that He send forth laborers into His harvest.” Most truly yours for Him, Frank A. Keller. Changsha, Hunan, China. Every individual exercises some influence, either for good or ill. Some people are inclined to question this, and claim to have no influence over the lives or actions of others. Every one should be careful that the influence he exercises is wholesome and helpful. This applies with especial force to Christians. They have it in their power, both by force of example and by the spoken word, to shape the destines of those with whom they come in contact,—especially young people: We wonder how many young men and women have been influenced by readers of The King’s Business to give their lives for definite Christian service? You may help to answer this question. The Bible Institute of Los Angeles will be glad to suggest necessary courses of training for every branch of Christian activity.

worker. It is not enough to send Bible, and tracts and money; men and women must go. God’s demand is not for the consecration of the wealth of the Church, but for the consecration of the Church itself. I t is worthy of note that all those early workers who prayed for laborers were themselves sent, and all died for the faith. I recall some years ago listening to the leader of a large missionary meeting making an appeal for volun teers, ready should the Lord send them to go to the for eign field. One of the first to offer was his only daughter, and I will never forget the look that passed over his face. He evidently was not prepared for his own to go. This is what the prayer will mean—you may have to pull up Christ’s Power Over a Demon-Ridden Soul R ECENT reports from Dr. Frank Keller, indicate no loss of power for the Gospel in China in spite of all the tur bulent conditions in that land. Dr. Keller’s letter this month begins with the account of a demon case which has been dealt vvith in Scriptural manner and with results similar to those witnessed in New Testament times. In the village where Bioia Evangelistic Band No. 3 has been working, there is a Mrs. Li who keeps a shop for the manu- iacture and sale of the beautiful Chinese lanterns,- Her husband lias been dead for many years but she has gone on with the business very successfully. Her son, Li Tsung Hua, was an unusually bright young man and had excellent educational advan tages; like Paul he also learned a trade. Suddenly, to use the words of our evangelist, “Satan ensnared him and he became insane.” He had been in this: condition for seven years. He did not care to go out on the street, but whenever he did go out he constantly wanted to beat people, so they were obliged to confine him in a room. When his mother or wife took food or tea to him he would try to beat them. They were in constant fear and their hearts were very sad. They had tried every known plan to help him; spent money on doctors and medicines, worshipped idols, made vows to the gods, engaged in prolonged fasts. V icarious F aith C alled I nto A ction Two weeks before this report was written two of the local Christians told our evangelists about this afflicted family and the leader with one of his associates went to call on them The first thing they did was to tell the poor mother and wife of the power and saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and these two almost distracted women expressed sincere belief in the comforting message that had been brought to them. They went into the room of the young man. He would neither open his eyes nor speak; but merely gave :a kind of grunt when they spoke to him.' ] fowever they knelt and prayed tor him. They went daily and joined with the wife and mother in prayer for the invalid. The report says S -“The Lord Jesus gra ciously manifested His healing power and the young man has wonderfully improved. We hope that through this, many will be led to believe in Jesus.” A Y oung W ife ’ s H eart G laddened The young man was a party to a marriage planned by the parents when the pair to be wedded were still children. In the best Chinese families the betrothed persons are considered as truly married as though the actual wedding ceremony had been performed.
