The money which you have just examined, except for the two little green ones, is Philippino invasion money. Ordinari- ly, one peso is worth fifty cents in American money, so you might think that these sixty-four and a half pesos are worth $32.25, But before we got here, it cost the Philippinos two thousand of these things for a pair of shoes — fifteen hundred for a shirt, etc. However, since we’ve taken over, they have also been used to supplement our toilet paper supply.
