The Biography of Herman Shooster

1917, the British Government asked President Wilson to support the Balfour Declaration in sympathy with the Zionist movement.

“‘I am moreover persuaded that the allied nations, with the fullest concurrence of our own Government and people are agreed that in Palestine shall be laid the foundations of a Jewish Commonwealth.” - President Woodrow Wilson

He made this proclaimation against the advice his most trusted confidante, Col. Edward House, America’s first national security adviser. The U.S. was an extremely an- ti-Semitic country. Support for the Balfour Declaration was a very courageous act. Frank Shooster, Sr. was compelled to rally for the Wil- son to ensure a safe haven for Jews around the world by backing a leader who was courageous enough to stand up to discrimination.

“The world must be safe for democracy.”

- President Woodrow Wilson
